When the first census was taken in 1790, no one knew what would be the fate of this young country that has just fought a war to gain independence. Yet 230 years later, the USA is now considered one if not the greatest nation on earth.

As preparation are being finalized to conduct the 2020 census, the Census Bureau announced @nardotrealtor as a national 2020 Census Partner. With this partnership, the Census Bureau will provide publicly-available promotional materials to help Realtors® educate their clients, friends, and neighbors about the importance of responding to the 2020 Census – coming April 1, 2020.

The decennial census will collect information about those living in every U.S. household – driving funding for countless essential federal programs. This year’s Census can be completed over phone, through the mail and – for the first time ever – online. Your privacy is the Census Bureau’s top concern, so you will not be asked for social security numbers; a donation; or anything on behalf of a political party. Learn more about the census – at nar.realtor/census. #RealtorsCount @nardotrealtor

Realtors® are being asked to share the word about the upcoming census with family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, and clients.

  • Social media is considered most effective way to promote the upcoming census – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram are great platforms to get the word out about the Census. Spread the word about the Census using the hashtag #REALTORSCount.
  • Phone calls, emails, and text messages are highly effective too!

Another great way to help is to join the NAR hosted webinar on March 4th at 3pm CST with the U.S. Census Bureau. The webinar will highlight the importance of this year’s decennial census and how census data are used. Register today!

Last, make sure you take the Census Survey. Beginning in mid-March 2020, households will be able to complete the census survey by mail, by phone, or online at 2020census.gov.
